Open Energy Corporation Wins NRCA SpecRight Award at the National Roofing Contractors Association Convention in Las Vegas
SOLANA BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 2007--Open Energy Corporation
(OTC BB: OEGY), a renewable energy company focused on the development
and commercialization of solar energy solutions, has received the 2007
"SpecRight Award" and nominated for "Gold Circle"
from the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) for its Tahoe
Center for Environmental Sciences Project at the International Roofing
Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
NRCA's SpecRight Excellence in Design Award program recognizes those who
design long-lasting, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly roof systems
according to accepted industry practices. The Gold Circle Award program
recognizes members for their significant contributions to the roofing
industry for outstanding workmanship, innovative solutions, service to
the community and industry.
The Tahoe Center for Environmental Science, an environmental research
and education facility built in conjunction with the University of California
at Davis, completed the installation of a 31.5 kilowatt solar electric
roofing system using Open Energy Corporation's building integrated SolarSave®
Roofing Tiles. The roofing system is made up of 900 SolarSave® Roofing
Tiles and nine Open Energy 3500 watt inverters and combiner boxes. This
system produces 4,400 kilowatt hours per month for the building.
SolarSave® Roofing Tiles integrate high efficiency photovoltaic cells
in composite frames to create strong, lightweight, waterproof, fire rated
tiles which match the colors and edge profiles of standard cement tiles.
The resulting installations have the highest per foot power output in
the industry, and a visual appearance superior to all competitive products.
SolarSave® Tiles are ideal for commercial and residential projects,
and can be installed by certified roofing contractors.
